Germany is weighing whether to extend the life-span of its remaining nuclear power plants as a way to secure the country’s energy supply in the face of uncertainty over Russian gas supplies, the country’s economy minister Robert Habeck said.
Two days earlier, Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said on German television: “We buy 50% of our coal from Russia. If we exclude Russia from the SWIFT system, the lights will go out in Germany.”
Dear Germany, it’s not too late to make the right decisions.
More nuclear means less dependence on Russian coal and gas.
